Spring Show Schedule 2026

The 2026 Spring Show will take place on Sunday 22nd  March at 2:30pm.
​Prize giving and auction at 4:00pm.

If you want to enter the show, go to the end of the list below and list your entry details in the 'List your entries' section.  You will need to state your name and classes you wish to enter.
The schedule of classes you can enter are:

Spring Show - Section A - Flowers, etc.
Classes 1 to 11 – One bloom per stem excluding classes 6 and 11

As nondegradable Oasis has been banned by the RHS, please use a more environmentaly alternative.

                 A round arrangement in a sugar bowl (or similar).

Spring Show – Section C – Young Exhibitors’ Section

Photographs must be submitted digitally no later than the Friday
before the show.
Class       Title

40            Junior photography – ‘Spring Flowers’.

 Spring Show – Section D – Domestic
Class       Title
42             5 Oat biscuits.  To your own recipe.
 
43              Ginger Cake with lemon frosting
Ingredients:
 120g Butter or Margarine
60g Golden Syrup
180g Black treacle
2 medium eggs
60g Brown Sugar
150ml milk
 240g plain flour
1 rounded tsp mixed spice
1 level tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 level tsp ground ginger
Method:
Grease and line an 8” (20cm) appx. square cake tin.  Using a large saucepan, warm together the butter, treacle, syrup and sugar.  Add milk and allow to cool.  Beat eggs and blend with cool mixture. 
Sift dry ingredients together into a bowl, add the cooled mixture folding in gently.  Turn into the greased and lined tin. 
Bake in a slow oven 170°C (150°C fan) Gas Mark 2 for 1-1¼  hours.  Turn out and cool on a wire tray before icing.

Icing
50g icing sugar sifted
1 tsp finely grated lemon zest
1 tbsp lemon juice
Method
When the cake has  cooled mix together the icing sugar and lemon zest and then gradually add the lemon juice until a dropping consistency.
Drizzle icing in a zig-zag pattern on top of the cake

                        No more than 100 words.


Entries should be submitted by 12 noon on Saturday 22nd March.  Entry fee 25p per class (excluding photography classes).
All exhibits should be staged by 10:45am (judging starts promptly at 11:00am).
